Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the tart crust in a tart pan and lightly prick the base with a fork.
- In a mixing bowl whisk together melted butter, honey, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Stir in almond extract if using.
- Add sliced almonds and mix until fully coated with the honey mixture.
- Pour the almond filling into the prepared tart crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top turns golden and the center is slightly set.
- Remove from oven and allow the tart to cool for about 20 minutes before slicing.
- Slice and serve as is or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use good-quality honey for the best flavor.
Allow the tart to cool properly so the filling sets nicely.
Lightly toast the almonds beforehand for a deeper nutty flavor.
