Method
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth with slight lumps.
- Mix in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined.
- Add baking soda, salt, and flour, then gently mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best natural sweetness and moisture.
Do not overmix the batter or the bread may turn dense.
