Ingredients

  • 4 –5 ripe bananas sliced
  • 2 packs instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 2 cups vanilla wafers
  • 2 tbsp sugar optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Whisk vanilla pudding mix with cold milk until thick and creamy, then let it set for a few minutes.
  2. Slice bananas evenly and keep them ready for layering.
  3. In a large trifle bowl, add a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.
  4. Add a layer of pudding over the wafers and spread evenly.
  5. Add banana slices on top of the pudding layer.
  6. Spread a layer of whipped cream over the bananas.
  7. Repeat layers until the bowl is filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for 2–4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Let the trifle chill properly so flavors blend beautifully.
  • You can swap wafers with graham crackers if needed.
  • Best served cold for that creamy, refreshing texture.
  • Avoid overripe bananas that turn mushy too quickly.
