Method
- Boil rotini pasta in salted water until al dente then drain
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté chopped onion until soft
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, then drain excess fat
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper
- Simmer sauce for 5–7 minutes
- Mix cooked pasta with the beef sauce until well combined
- Transfer mixture into a baking dish
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly
- Let cool slightly before serving
Notes
Do not overcook pasta as it will continue cooking in the oven
Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting
Add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days
