Bread Rolls Recipe

Soft, fluffy, and golden bread rolls that are perfect for any meal. These homemade rolls are light, buttery, and incredibly easy to make. Ideal for beginners and perfect for sandwiches, burgers, or as a side. Once you try them, store-bought rolls won’t stand a chance!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • Extra melted butter for brushing

Method
 

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy
  2. Add flour salt butter, and egg and mix into a soft dough
  3. Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
  4. Place dough in greased bowl cover and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled
  5. Punch down dough and divide into equal portions
  6. Shape into balls and place on a baking tray
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes
  8. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes until golden brown
  9. Brush with melted butter immediately after baking

Notes

Use warm milk, not hot, to activate the yeast properly
Do not skip the second rise for a fluffy texture
Avoid adding too much flour to keep rolls soft
Brush with butter for extra flavor and shine
Store leftovers in an airtight container for freshness
