Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables carrots, peas, celery

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, melt butter and add vegetables, cooking for 3–4 minutes.
  2. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add shredded chicken, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt, then add a little milk to form dumpling dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough into the simmering soup.
  6. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.
  7. Stir gently and let thicken slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Do not lift the lid while the dumplings cook to ensure they stay fluffy.
  • Add herbs like thyme or parsley for extra flavor.
  • Adjust thickness by adding more broth or simmering longer.
