Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Drain excess grease from the skillet.
Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, corn, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Spread the beef mixture evenly into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef layer.
Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
Sprinkle bacon and parsley on top before serving if desired.
