Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil 30 ml
  • 2 garlic cloves minced (6 g)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice 15 ml
  • 1 tsp soy sauce 5 ml
  • ½ tsp salt 3 g
  • ½ tsp black pepper 2 g
  • ½ tsp paprika 2 g
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley 5 g
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika to make the marinade.
  2. Pat tuna steaks dry with paper towels and brush marinade evenly on both sides.
  3. Let the tuna rest for 10–15 minutes to absorb flavour.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill tuna steaks for 2–3 minutes per side for medium-rare or 4–5 minutes per side for well-done.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

Use thick tuna steaks to prevent overcooking and keep the centre tender.
Always preheat the grill for proper searing and grill marks.
Avoid overcooking; tuna tastes best slightly pink in the centre.
Frozen tuna can be used but must be fully thawed and patted dry.
