Korean Beef Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Ground beef 500g
  • Garlic 3 cloves minced
  • Fresh ginger 1 tbsp grated
  • Soy sauce 1/4 cup
  • Brown sugar 2 tbsp
  • Sesame oil 1 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Chili flakes 1–2 tsp
  • Cornstarch 1 tbsp
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Green onions 2 chopped
  • Sesame seeds 1 tsp

Method
 

  1. Cook ground beef in a pan over medium heat until browned
  2. Add garlic and ginger and sauté until fragrant
  3. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, vinegar, and chili flakes in a bowl
  4. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir well
  5. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes to absorb flavor
  6. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan
  7. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens
  8. Turn off the heat and add green onions and sesame seeds
  9. Serve hot over rice or noodles

Notes

Do not skip browning the beef for maximum flavor
Adjust chili flakes based on your spice tolerance
Add a spoonful of gochujang for a deeper Korean flavor
Use low-sodium soy sauce if preferred
Best served fresh, but can be stored for 2–3 days in the fridge
