Ingredients
  

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp bourbon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F)
  2. Place pie crust into a pie dish and set aside
  3. Whisk maple syrup brown sugar granulated sugar melted butter eggs bourbon vanilla and salt until smooth
  4. Spread pecans evenly in the pie crust
  5. Pour filling mixture over the pecans
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes until center is slightly set with a gentle jiggle
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely before slicing
  8. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired

Notes

Do not skip the cooling time, or the filling will be too runny
Use real maple syrup for the best flavor
Do not overbake to keep the texture soft and gooey
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
Warm slices slightly before serving for the best taste
