Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley chopped optional

Method
 

  1. In a bowl whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a bowl or zip bag and pour the marinade over them.
  3. Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours for better flavor.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the chicken from marinade and place it on the hot grill.
  6. Grill the chicken for about 6–7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  7. Make sure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  8. Remove from grill and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with vegetables, salad, or rice.

Notes

Use real maple syrup for the best flavor.
Chicken thighs can also be used instead of chicken breasts.
Marinating longer will give a deeper flavor.
You can cook this chicken in a grill pan or oven if a grill is not available.
