Ingredients
  

  • Ground beef – 500g
  • Onion finely chopped – 1 medium
  • Garlic minced – 3 cloves
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Crushed tomatoes – 400g
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp
  • Ground cumin – 1 tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp
  • Ground cinnamon – ½ tsp
  • Ground coriander – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Chili flakes – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – to taste
  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley – for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and golden
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart
  5. Stir in cumin, paprika, cinnamon, coriander, turmeric, chili flakes, salt, and pepper
  6. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, mix well
  7. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally
  8. Stir in honey and adjust seasoning if needed
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving

Notes

Do not skip cinnamon, as it adds authentic Moroccan flavor
Simmering longer enhances the richness of the sauce
Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing chili flakes
Tastes even better the next day as flavors develop more
Serve with couscous, rice, or flatbread for the best experience
