Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prep peaches: peel and slice fresh or drain canned, toss with 1/2 cup sugar.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, remaining sugar, and milk in a bowl. Add vanilla if using.
- Melt butter in a 9x13” baking dish, pour batter over butter (don’t stir).
- Scatter peaches evenly on top and sprinkle cinnamon.
- Bake 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving; top with ice cream if desired.
Notes
- Pat canned or frozen peaches dry to avoid soggy cobbler.
- Don’t over-stir batter with butter—layers are key.
- Serve warm for the best comfort dessert experience.
