Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add sourdough discard, egg, and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft cookie dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for better texture.
- Scoop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet leaving space between cookies.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Chilling the dough helps create thicker and chewier cookies.
Do not overbake if you want soft and gooey centers.
Use good-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
