Ingredients
  

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated or ½ tsp powder
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds optional
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions optional

Method
 

  1. In a bowl mix soy sauce honey garlic ginger vinegar water and cornstarch until smooth
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat
  3. Place salmon fillets skin side down and cook for 4–5 minutes
  4. Flip salmon and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden
  5. Pour prepared teriyaki sauce into the pan
  6. Spoon sauce over salmon while it thickens for 2–3 minutes
  7. Remove from heat once sauce becomes glossy and sticky
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving

Notes

  • Pat the salmon dry before cooking for better texture
  • Do not overcook salmon to keep it juicy
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey
  • Use low sodium soy sauce if preferred
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture
